Train-the-Trainer Procedures

Facilitator Candidates exhibit:

  • Content expertise
  • Workplace experience
  • Educational background
  • Related certifications
  • Facilitation experience
  • Four facilitation competencies as defined in "The Facilitative Instructor Workshop"

Train-the-Trainer

  • New Facilitator Candidate attends the two-day "The Facilitative Instructor Workshop" program
  • Facilitator Candidate prepares for and completes course check-out
  • Facilitator Candidate conducts class with Implementation Manager observing
  • Implementation Manager coaches and mentors Facilitator Candidate until Candidate is certified by Job Skills to facilitate the course.
  • Facilitator is required to attend two Training Updating sessions per year

During the Train-the-Trainer process the Facilitator Candidate must be able to demonstrate proficiency in a variety of instructional techniques and tools some of which include:

  • The ability to use Adult Learning Techniques including:
    • Guiding the participants to reach own answers (self-discovery)
    • Involving the participants in the action of learning through individual and small group involvement
    • Guiding participants in appropriate application (personal and professional) of learning experiences
    • Presenting the learning as a solution to participants' needs

In addition to these abilities the Facilitator must be able to:

  • Demonstrate the effective use of content management
  • Demonstrate the effective use of delivery skills
  • Demonstrate the effective use of media skills
  • Demonstrate the effective use of classroom management
